Call for Workshops

Scope

We solicit proposals for workshops that will be held together with the 4th EAI International Conference on Industrial Networks and Intelligent Systems that will be held in Da Nang, Vietnam from August 27 to August 28, 2018.

In addition to the main conference, INISCOM 2018 will feature conference workshops (8 to 10 presentations) and invites the submission of workshop proposals. The aim of the conference workshops is to emphasize emerging topics not fully or not specifically covered in the main conference. Workshops should highlight current topics related to the conference scope:

Telecommunications systems and networks

  • Communication and networking technology for IoT
  • IoT system and network architecture
  • D2D/M2M communications for supporting IoT
  • All aspects for 5G networks
  • Wireless multimedia networks
  • Software defined networks
  • Wireless body area network and wireless healthcare
  • Overlay and programmable networks
  • Internet of things and smart cities communication network, sensor network, body area network, social network, opportunistic network, and cloud-based network
  • Analysis of industrial networks, including network lifetime, scalability and stability, transmission reliability, quality of service, etc.

Intelligent systems and applications

  • Embedded systems and sensor networks in IoT, Industrial applications of intelligent systems, IoT applications and services
  • Computational intelligence in automation, including neural, fuzzy and evolutionary approaches, ant colonies optimization, swarm intelligence, machine learning, bioinformatics, expert systems, multi‐agent systems, game and decision theories, etc.

Hardware and software design and development

  • Health monitoring – wearable devices
  • Analogue/digital system design and structures
  • Design and analysis of embedded industrial systems, including real-time computing, operating systems, communications, etc.
  • Modelling and analysis tools for industrial networks and intelligent systems
  • Simulation and testbed of current industrial networks and intelligent systems

Information processing and data analysis

  • Audio/image/video processing
  • Data mining, pattern recognition, estimation and identification
  • Services and support for smart Cities
  • Software defined smart objects connected vehicles
  • Green communications and energy efficiency

  • Industry cases and deployment of IoT systems towards 5G

Presentations delivered during the workshops are based on original papers that have been selected through peer-review process and that have not been previously published. Accepted workshop papers will be included in the Conference Proceedings.

Workshop proposal format

A workshop proposal (maximum 5 pages) should contain (please follow the following order in your proposal):

  • Title of the workshop
  • Workshop organizers (names, affiliations and contact information), limiting up to 2 workshops chairs
  • Tentative composition of the organizing and program committees
  • A brief description of the scope and topics of the workshop (max 1 page)
  • A brief rationale explaining why the topic of the workshop is interesting and timely for the conference (max 1 page)
  • A draft call for papers, including the workshop submission deadlines (max 1 page)
  • Names of potential invited speakers (indication that speakers accepted to participate is a plus) – optional
  • Any special space or equipment requests – optional

 

Workshop proposal submission guidelines

Proposal submissions should be submitted as a unique PDF file to the workshop chair by e-mail to [email protected] and [email protected].  The subject of the e-mail must be “INISCOM 2018 – workshop proposal”.

 

Important dates

  • Proposal submission deadline: May 15, 2018.
  • Notification of selection: June 4, 2018.
